Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Addis Ababa. Meet your guide & vehicles. Start your tour south to Arbaminch (in Amharic meaning forty springs) admiring spectacular green hills & with a stop to see an Alaba village on the way. 

 

Day 2

Morning drive to Chencha Mountain to visit the Dorze people, with their unique culture, houses and traditions.  Then back at the hotel. Afternoon free in Arbaminch. Clients can use the Emerald Resort facilities as the new swimming pool, spa, gym, indoor & outdoor games, and restaurants & bar (for some facilities there are additional fee applicable & to be paid by clients on spot). Day 3

Drive to visit a Konso village, UNESCO heritage, which are famous for being the first in Africa to start terracing agriculture and their traditions and villages are unique. Proceed then to Jinka. ON hotel

 

Day 4

Very early morning drive to visit the Mursi people and one of their village. Here for beauty women use to put round plates into their lips while men have different scarifications all over their body.Drive then back to Jinka and proceed to Turmi

 

Day 5

Free day for Hamer villages & walk to visit some of their interesting village & culture. Also since is Monday, go to visit the colorful Hamer, Karo & Dassanech people market in Turmi village. With luck if we find the bull jumping ceremony, clients can visit it. ON Emerald lodge Turmi

 

Day 6

Drive to visit the Karo people villages, with spectacular view over Omo River. Afternoon back to Turmi and relax with the Hamer people. ON Emerald lodge Turmi

 

Day 7

Drive to Yabelo and visit the Borena people and villages.  ON Moyale in hotels

 

Day 8

Conclude the border process and then drive to Marsabit national park. Late afternoon make a game drive. ON lodge in the park

 

Day 9

Morning game drive. Then proceed to the Samburu National park. Afternoon have the game drive in the Samburu National park, one of the richest of fauna and flora (including the big five) in Kenya. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometer landscape features rocky battlements, dry riverbeds and thorn scrub. As for wildlife, Samburu offers sanctuary to the endangered Gravy’s zebra, the rare beisa Oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bath on the banks of the river in the evening. ON lodge in the park

 

Day 10

Full day Samburu National park.

 

Day 11

Drive to lake Nakuru for the large number of flamingoes and more visits. Lake Nakuru is a fresh water lake with over 2 million flamingos that flock to feed on the teeming algae, over 450 different bird species have been recorded and it hosts a sanctuary to The Black Rhino and White Rhino.ON lodge

 

Day 12

Drive to Nairobi, enjoying a scenic drive of the Great Rift Valley. Reach then Nairobi. Dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Transfer to the airport for departure
