Itinerary

01. Arrival in Addis Ababa. Transfer to the chosen hotel. Have a free morning. Afternoon (1400 hrs from the hotel) tour of the capital: visit Entoto mountain with views over the capital, the National museum, St George church and the Mercato, biggest open air market in Africa.
Meals free. ON (overnight) hotel.

02. Drive to Arbaminch (in amharic meaning forty springs) driving through the Guraghe + Wolayta people & villages and admiring spectacular green hills.
Have lunch on the way. Dinner & ON Emerald Resort Arbaminch.

03. Morning drive to Chencha mountain to visit the Dorze people, with their unique culture, houses and traditions.
Afternoon make a boat excursion on Chamo lake to admire the biggest crocodiles in Africa (reach 6 meters of length), hippos and birds.

04. Drive to visit a Konso people village. The Konso are the first for having started the terracing agriculture in Africa. They have unique culture and traditions and are registered as UNESCO heritage. Afternoon drive then to the Ari & Bena people & visit one of Ari villages. Reach then Jinka town.
Lunch on the way; dinner and ON hotel in Jinka.

05. Proceed to visit the Mursi people and their villages. Here, for beauty, women use to put round plates into their lips while men have different scarifications all over their body. Visit their villages and culture. Then drive back to Jinka & proceed via KeyAfer & Dimeka villages to the Hammer people region, to Turmi.

06. Morning drive to Kangate, cross the Omo river and proceed to visit the Nyangatom people. Walk to the villages & visit this other very interesting tribe of the Omo. Later proceed to visit the Karo people, for their very interesting decoration, scarification all over their body and culture. From Kortcho village you’ll enjoy also a spectacular view over the Omo river.
Late afternoon drive back to Turmi.

07. Full day for the very colorful Hamer people, famous for the decorative hairstyles and ornaments. With luck we try to visit ceremonies as bull jumping & Evangadi dances.
The Hamar are known for their unique custom of “bull jumping” which initiates a boy into manhood. First, female relatives dance and invite whipping from men who have recently been initiated; this shows their support of the initiate, and their scars give them a right to demand his help in time of need. The boy must run back and forth twice across the backs of a row of bulls or castrated steers, and is ridiculed if he fails. Meals & ON Evangadi lodge Turmi

08. Morning visit the very colorful Hamer, Karo & Dassanech people market in Dimeka village (from around 11am to about 2pm). Afternoon remaining visit at Hamer people.

09. Early morning drive to Omorate, at Omo river bank, to visit the Dassanech people. Proceed then to the border and make necessary process. Enter into Kenya and proceed to Sibiloi National park. Late afternoon game drive.
Lunch box on the day; dinner & ON camping in Sibiloi.

10. Drive to Loyangalani, at Turkana lake. Admire the Turkana and Elmolo people and very interesting villages.
Lunch on the way; dinner & ON Oasis lodge or camping at Turkana

11. Full days visit of Turkana and Elmolo people and their villages. Optional make a boat trip on Turkana lake for Elmolo village.

12. Proceed to the Samburu National park. Afternoon have the game drive in the Samburu National park, one of the richest of fauna and flora (including the big five) in Kenya. Physically dramatic, the 104 sq kilometer landscape features rocky battlements, dry riverbeds and thorn scrub. As for wildlife, Samburu offers sanctuary to the endangered Gravy’s zebra, the rare beisa Oryx and the blue-shanked Somali ostrich whilst large herds of elephant roam the gaunt hills during the day before returning to bath on the banks of the river in the evening.

13. Early morning enjoy a game drive in the Samburu National park. Proceed then to
lake Nakuru for the large number of flamingoes and more visits. Lake Nakuru is a fresh water lake with over 2 million flamingos that flock to feed on the teeming algae, over 450 different bird species have been recorded and it hosts a sanctuary to The Black Rhino and White Rhino.

14. Drive to Bogoria lake, for numerous birds, pelicans, flamingoes and great views.
Continue to Nairobi, enjoying a scenic drive of the Great Rift Valley. Reach then Nairobi.
Lunch on the way. Dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant.
Transfer to the airport for departure
