Day 1: Papyrus Guesthouse, Entebbe
The arrival of your flight into Entebbe international airport. Customs and immigration procedures then exit. You will be warmly welcomed by vour representative and proceed to have your Covid-19 test. (you will have to present another one taken at least 72 hours to travel date). You will visit the Entebbe zoo. Later, transfer to the hotel for check in, dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Kibale Forest Camp, Kibale Forest National Park
Leave Entebbe in the early morning after breakfast for the fascinating drive through papyrus swamps and thick jungle of the Nile Delta to Kibale National Park just under the Ruwenzori Mountains. Lunch will be en route. Afternoon guided walk in the crater lakes area of the park for outstanding cultural visit. Arrive in the evening and check in at your camp. Kibale Foret Camp is located in a patch of evergreen forest, just outside the southern part of the National Park. It borders the Magombe swamp, known for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary and is a mere It is a 10 min drive to Kanyanchu Visitor Center, the place from where the chimp track will start. Kibale Forest Camp offers an affordable classic canvas experience in the form of 10 African safari-style tents tucked away in a lush forest. A budget alternative is the lazy camping on the campsite. Complemented by excellent food served in a cosy grass-thatched restaurant, the camp forms the perfect base from which to explore the area.
Day 3: The Bush Lodge (Queen Elizabeth National Park), Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the morning you will have breakfast to transfer to Kibale Headquarters for briefing before setting off for a forest walk in search for chimpanzees. The forest walk will be guided to provide information not only on chimpanzees and primates but also on small organisms making it interesting. The walk will reward you with other primates like Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Colobus monkeys, Red-tailed. After chimp trekking, return to camp for lunch. Check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth ready for an evening two hour Boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel is worthwhile an opportunity to see Hippo, Bufallo, Kobs, Elephants, warthogs etc. This trip also enables visitor chance to see spectacular birds. later, transfer to the lodge for check in, dinner and overnight stay. Activities: Kibale Forest Chimp Tracking The most favourite of Kibale’s walks embarks on from the Kanyanchu Visitor center at 08.00 & 15.00 and lasts 2 to 3 hours. Chimpanzee are the most sought after primate by visitors, but you should look out for the black & white colobus, red tailed monkey or the grey cheeked mangabey. Your guides will be able to show you pittas & different bird species and will give details of the tradit of the plant species within the forest. This walk is for 6 people in a group. Overnight: The Bush Lodge (Queen Elizabeth National Park)
The Bush Lodge (Queen Elizabeth National Park) forms an excellent base for safari activities in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The lodge is located just off the main road of Kasese near the small town of Katunguru. The accommodations consist of 10 non-self-contained tents, 2 self-contained tents, and 12 self-contained bandas. The non-self-contained tents are furnished with comfortable beds, a power outlet, a private terrace, and a communal ablution block. The bandas are spaciously placed between the indigenous bush and are equipped with huge mosquito-netted windows and an eco-toilet. Each of these units provides a private terrace with an outdoor shower.
A large dining tent is offered as the on-site restaurant. Guests can enjoy numerous activities in the surroundings including wildlife research tours, game drives, and chimpanzee trekking.
Day 4: Gorilla Valley Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Begin your day with a cup of coffee. Early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens Mile makes visitors encounter elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs lakes and a variety of birds. Thereafter drive through the Ishasha Sector with picnic boxes; this takes you through the unique western rift valley escarpment. If time allows take on a mini game drive in Ishasha sector in search of tree climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi forest National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge
Activities: Southern Queen Elizabeth National Park
Surrounded by other wonderful parks in the western region of Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its rich biodiversity, wildlife and history. In the southern part of the park, the remote Ishaha sector is home to tree-climbing lions who spend long lazy days dozing in the pretty fig trees. The Uganda Kob, which they watch from the branches, graze the plains. Around Lake Edward, enjoy fishing and more game watching – make sure to look out for chimpanzees, elephants, crocodiles, and perennial and migratory bird species. Overnight: Gorilla Valley Lodge
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest on one meter away from your veranda. It feels like you are invited into to home of the majestic mountain gorillas. But these gentle giants are not your host, just your neighbours, occasionally coming out of the forest to spend some time in our garden. This is what makes Gorilla Valley Lodge so special. Located on the border of the impenetrable forest and set on a steep slope the lodge has a truly unique setting. Imagine waking up to the sounds of the forest, having your cup of coffee or tea on you private terrace, experiencing the forest coming alive and the mist mysteriously giving way for a lush jungle.
Day 5: Gorilla Valley Lodge, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. Once done, you will return to the lodge for a hot meal and much needed rest. Dinner and overnight stay.
Activities: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Wake early for a hearty breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla trekking. Before 8:00 am, report to the ranger station for registration and a talk by one of the rangers. The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, to track the gorillas. (Please note this trek can take from 30 minutes to 5-6 hours). A reasonable degree of fitness is required, as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them ‘talk’ to one another, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the Silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest knowing you are with a few of the last remaining mountain gorillas. It’s amazing to think there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left.
Day 6: End of Itinerary: Rise early, have breakfast and check out. Drive to Kampala, then with lunch enroute . You will stopover at Igongo cultural centre to explore the life style of the Ankole and Bahima, thereafter proceed to the Equator Uganda. Arrive at the Entebbe international airport. Bid farewell to your driver guide then proceed to check in for your outbound flight.
